For a while now I have limped along with Blackberry Internet Service and the Blackberry Desktop Software for Contact Synchronization. My company uses hosted email that does not offer BES functionality. :( But I can’t help myself, I just love the Blackberry devices too much!
What makes this worse, is that for TOO long, the desktop software did not work with Outlook 2010
Well, it still doesn’t work with x64, but now it at least supports Outlook 2010 x86.
Currently, BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.1 and Desktop Software 6.0 do not support Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit version for mailbox connectivity and synchronization of organizer data such as Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Memos. BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 provides support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 32-bit version only. Support for Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit version will be available in 2011. (–Source)
You can get it yourself by clicking here. Sadly, the “check for updates” option in the Desktop Manager 5x doesn’t seem to be aware of the 6x version.
Additionally, you can View BlackBerry Desktop Software v6.0 User Guide.

Great! I’m happy to share!
The layout of the weblog is absolutely messed up when I look at it in Opera. Plz fix it.
Sorry about that. The theme has is mostly pre-defined and cannot be adjusted. Perhaps try Firefox or IE or Chrome instead?
This is genuinely a wonderful info. An document similar to this shows precisely how greatly the concept is actually appreciated by creator.
Mike – here it is 2011 and I’m still hoping that RIM Blackberry will have a compatable synchronization process for Outlook 2010 on my 64 bit operating system. If you find out WHEN this is available, will you let me know? I just got off the phone with technical support at Blackberry – and Terry-Lynn (my customer service rep) didn’t have any idea if or when it might be ready. Let me know if you hear anything?? Thanks
It’s out. See my post here: https://mikecrowley.wordpress.com/2010/12/31/blackberry-desktop-software-version-6-adds-x64
You’re the MAN! I don’t know how you found it, but neither the Blackberry service rep, not I was able to locate this. It looks like it was released last week – thank goodness. I was going crazy copying the data into my phone or printing all my appointments, addresses and contact details. You saved me tons of time!!! Thanks a mill.
Glad I could help!
Dear Mike,
I have the latest version of the desktop software, but my BB no longer syncs with my outlook. It was doing so before but not anymore. I have outlook 2010, windows 7 pro and a BB curve. When i select a desktop application under configure settings for calendar on the desktop software the only options i have are yahoo or ASCII??? Please help!
